Did you know that the most valuable part of an SDVR is the hard disk (HDD)? Yet, this is also the one component most people often neglect to pay special attention to. To ensure that you make the most use of your SDVR, always find a place that has good ventilation for the SDVR! Remember, the HDD spins non-stop and it will get real warm at the interior of the SDVR. Next, never move an operational SDVR or knock on the rack/table that is supporting the operational SDVR, unless you want to reduce the life-span of the HDD. Do bear in mind that there are some HDDs that last for less than 3 years when use on a 8hrs x 5 days. Yet, there are others that are manufactured to last for 5 years on a 24hrs x 7 days basis. So, you have been warned! There is always a price to pay for quality.
